Luanda: Vice president monitors restoration of electric power in Sequele

Luanda, ANGOLA, October 12 - Angola's vice President Bornito de Sousa Friday monitored on the ground the progress of the restoration works of electric power supply to Sequele satellite city and in outskirts of Cacuaco municipality, Luanda. ,

 

The information is expressed in a note released by the Support Organs of the Vice- President.

 

The Friday morning visit enabled Bornito de Sousa to learn of the reasons that led to the interruption of electricity supply and replacement works, in completion phase.

Bornito de Sousa expressed solidarity with the families and strongly condemned the criminal action which, according to him, should be vigorously repelled by the entire Angolan society.

 

One of the towers bearing electric power in the headquarters of Cacuaco municipality, along the highway, was vandalised on Wednesday night, leaving over 20,000 households without power.

 

Prior to visiting the site, Bornito de Sousa held a meeting at Sequele Administration with minister of State and Head of Security Affairs Office of the President of Republic Pedro Sebastião.

 

Attended the meeting were also the Secretaries of State for Water Luís Filipe da Silva, Energy António da Costa, and Deputy Governor of Luanda for the Economic Sector, Júlio Bessa.

 

Still, the meeting gathered administrator of Cacuaco Augusto José, and the CEO of National Electricity Distribution Company Ruth Safeca,

The Vice President was briefed on vandalisation of the tower of electric energy transport.
