POLICE are investigating after two cars – both Volkswagens – were broken into in neighbouring Keighley streets.

The incidents occurred between 10.45pm and 11pm on Wednesday (May 21).

A grey VW Passat was targeted in View Road.

The thieves smashed the passenger-side window and removed the centre console, then fled in another vehicle.

A police spokesperson says: "The victim was alerted to the theft by the sound of smashing glass, but the suspect(s) had already made off."

And a red VW Golf was broken into outside an address in Springfield Road.

"The hard drive for the CD player and the sat-nav were removed," said the spokesperson.

"A witness looked out to see a vehicle, believed to be a white Ford Transit van, being driven away."
